Five for Friday: End of October {Giveaway Included!}

True Story: I haven't been this excited about Friday since last Friday!
Here's a recap of my week:
1. Gala
Last weekend my husband and I were blessed to go a festive gala event at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Here I am all dressed up for the event:
Hubby and I:
The best part of the dinner was the ginormous chocolate cake! :)

2. MC Escher
This week we did a fabulous art project, inspired by the remarkable artist, M.C. Escher.
Our Art Docent (an amazing parent who helps teach art to my students twice a month) did a great presentation about the artist's background and lots of examples of his artwork.
Then my students got in touch with their inner artist and colored pages in an Escher-style:

 3. WW1
We did a really fun World War 1 Unit in Social Studies

4. Auction Project
Every year our school does a huge fundraiser - a silent auction.
Each class prepares a project to be bid on.
This year, my wonderful auction mom got a complete
Battlefield Birthday Package donated by Cedar Springs Camp.
We are making a camo-themed basket, complete with tank pinata, birthday cake gift card, streamers, balloons, paper cups and plates, and favor bags for 12 kids.
Here are the students packing the treat bags:
 5. Halloween Candy
Last night we had a whopping 3 groups of Trick-or-Treaters come to our door! now my big bowl of Halloween candy is taunting me, begging me to eat it!
As a special treat for my Facebook fans, I am doing a little giveaway!

Whoever can guess my favorite candy (be specific!) will win my NEW packet of Thanksgiving Centers! Visit my Facebook page and leave your guess and your e-mail address in a comment!
